Biography

Nneka Ifekwuna is a graduate of English with a Masters in Political Science from the University of Lagos. A professional Human Resources personnel with broad exposure and experience.

She started her professional Career as a journalist with NewAge Newspaper where she handled all marketing communication events and correspondence. She went further as a Senior Events Officer at the Nigeria LNG limited, where she was responsible for leading the team to develop and implement corporate relationship and communication plan and strategy for internal and external publics.

As Head Public Relations, Lagos Metropolitan Development and Governance Project (World bank Assisted Project), she monitored and analyzed events, public and press opinion with a view to build stakeholder’s trust, buy-in and ownership of projects to positively affect lives of citizens.

She joined the Federal Inland Revenue Service as an Assistant Director in the Communications and Liaison Department and rose to the rank of Deputy Director where she was the Head, FIRS Helpdesk in Taxpayer Service Department. As a recognized thought leader who proactively coordinated the production and distribution of Gauge Magazine and FIRS News Bulletin within production timelines, she was appointed Ag. Board Secretary in September 2017.

Nneka became a Director effective January, 2020 and was appointed as Board Secretary in February 10, 2020 by the FIRS Board a position she occupies to date. As a Team player and leader, she ensures effective and efficient conduct of the Board and Board Committee Meetings. Her Strategic foresight gives her the analytical ability to ensure highest standards of corporate governance in the Service as relates to policies, records and decisions of the Board.
