Mr. Anthony Ikechukwu Okonkwo was the Director, Micro & Small Taxpayers Department. His career in the Federal Inland Revenue Service has spanned over two decades. He has contributed immensely to the reforms and growth of the Service.
He has worked in various departments and field offices including Government Business Tax, tax audit, tax investigation, and field operations. He has won many prizes as Tax Controller, Large Taxpayers Office, Port Harcourt, and State Coordinator, Imo & Anambra States.
He started his career as a Graduate Assistant at the Abia State University, Uturu. He later had a stint in the banking industry for a period of about ten years during which he rose through the ranks and worked in branch operations, inspection, and audit departments.
Mr. Anthony I. Okonkwo studied Accounting at Abia State University, Uturu where he emerged as the 1987 Best Graduating Student in the College of Business Administration. He later proceeded to the University of Lagos where he bagged a Masters’ degree in Business Administration.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a Fellow of the Security Institute (fsi). He is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria(CIBN), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), and Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. He has also attended many professional courses and programmes locally and abroad.
