Ahmed M. Muhammed is a consummate professional with over three decades of experience in Finance, Accounting, Investment, Public Policy & Administration, Management, and Taxation cutting across both private and public sectors.
He was born on August 23rd 1963 in Yana – Shira Local Government Area of Bauchi State. He started his early education at Shira Primary School Bauchi State and Government Secondary School Misau where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1975 and West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1980 respectively. He later attended University of Maiduguri and graduated in 1985 with a B.Sc. Degree in Accountancy. He was award Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2000 after a successful course by Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He also attended Universities of Bradford and Huddersfield both in the United Kingdom, for his executive development programme, specialized training in Project Management as well as professional education.
He holds professional qualifications with prestigious Institutions amongst which are: (FCCA) – Fellow Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), (FCA) – Fellow Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), (FIMC) – Fellow Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), Fellow Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), (FCIT) – Fellow Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
After completing his National Youth Service in 1986, Ahmed M. Muhammed started his working career with First Bank of Nigeria Plc as an Officer. He left the services of the bank in 1988 to further his career with New Nigeria Development Company (NNDC) Limited. He rose through the ranks to become the company’s Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer. Prior to being appointed as the GMD/CEO, he served within the NNDC Group in various capacities including Principal Manager/Special Assistant to the Group Managing Director, Assistant General Manager/Investment, Deputy General Manager/Finance & Accounts, Executive Director/Investment Supervision-Directorate. He left the service of the company after completing his tenure in 2018.
He also served his state on leave of absence between 2003-2007 as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry and Commissioner for Works and Transport respectively.
He served on the Boards of over twenty (20) companies including Nigerian Life & Pension Consultants (PFA) Ltd, Newdevco Investments Ltd, NNIL Commercial Company Ltd, NOCACO Ltd, Yankari Resort and Safari Ltd.
Ahmed M. Muhammed joined the Service of Federal Inland Revenue Service in June 2020 as Director Finance and Accounts, before his deployment as Group Lead, General Services Group.
He is happily married with Children.
