To make it easier for organization to report and remit their taxes, the payFIRS API was developed. This allows the organization to remove manual processes and integrate their systems directly to FIRS. The API is a web-service integration that allows automatic and instant posting of taxes to FIRS.

FIRS will assist the technical department of any organization to achieve this.

What do I need to integrate?

a. Good Internet connection

b. Automated or computerized financial management system

c. Ability to consume a web-service. FIRS will provide technical training, if required.

SELF POLICING PROCESS

PayFIRS.com enables taxpayers to report their tax deductions like Withholding Tax, directly to FIRS. This is in the best interest of tax payers, so that they can easily monitor when their WHT payments were made.

How does it work for WHT?

Login to www.payfirs.net, click on

1. System prompts beneficiary tax payer’s TIN, validates the TIN and displays name

2. System prompts for the TIN of the company that deducted the WHT, validates the TIN and displays the necessary information.

3. System prompts for Date of Transaction, Transaction Amount and Invoice Number.

4. System displays captured information for confirmation.

On confirmation by the tax payer, the information is sent to the parties involved and FIRS. When the WHT amount is paid, everything clears off. This ensures that tax payer’s don’t miss out on the credit notes from other tax payer’s.
